They say to never mix business with pleasure, but clearly, they weren’t talking about Hollywood stars and the movies they make with their spouses. Following is a list of the top five celebrity couples who brought their work home with them.

Couple: Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

Movies: “Far and Away” (1992) and “Eyes Wide Shut” (1999)

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman met on the set of the film “Days of Thunder” in 1989 and were married in 1990. Their first appearance in a film together as husband and wife was the adventure-drama “Far and Away” where Tom butchers an Irish accent and Nicole’s wildly curly hair dominates every scene she’s in. Nine years later, the couple appeared in legendary director Stanley Kubrick’s uncomfortably enthralling movie, “Eyes Wide Shut.” Mirrored by their lack of chemistry on the screen, the couple divorced in 2001 due to irreconcilable differences.

Couple: Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger

Movies: “The Getaway” (1994)

Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger met in 1991 on the set of the less-than-successful romantic comedy “The Marrying Man.” They dated for two years, enjoying their status as the “it” couple, before tying the knot in 1993. The next year, Alec and Kim starred in their last film together, a remake of the 1972 crime-thriller, “The Getaway.” In 2000, after six years of a turbulent marriage, Kim filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple officially divorced in 2002.

Couple: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith

Movie: “Ali” (2001)

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith met for the first time in 1990 when she auditioned for the part of Smith’s girlfriend on the popular TV show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Jada didn’t get the part because she was deemed “too short” for the role. Good thing for these two there’s no height restriction on love. After four years of marriage, Will and Jada finally shared some screen-time in the biopic film about sports legend, Muhammad Ali, aptly titled “Ali.” The couple has not appeared together in a movie since, but they are still married and have two children together, Willow and Jaden.

Couple: Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor

Movies: “Zoolander” (2001), “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” (2004), and “Tropic Thunder” (2008)

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor met in 1999 while filming the pilot episode of the sci-fi comedy “Heat Vision and Jack.” Ben directed guest-star Christine into his life and married her the following year. Since then, the couple has starred in three movies together. Ben and Christine celebrated their 12-year wedding anniversary last May.
